SQL Team Lead / QA Lead (Remote, Contract, AI training) — SME Careers via AI Gig Scout

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI data services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate that delivers training data for many of the world's largest AI companies and foundation-model labs, is looking for a SQL Quality Assurance Lead. This is an hourly, remote contractor role at $70/hr, open to applicants in the United States. There is no immediate project for this role; qualified experts will be among the first contacted when relevant projects arise.

You will oversee quality and trainer performance across SQL and database AI training projects: spot-check items, review AI-generated SQL queries, schema reasoning and optimization advice, answer questions on joins, window functions, dialects and rubrics, update trainers on Discord, run onboarding calls, flag non-executable, inefficient or insecure SQL, and maintain style guides, trackers and FAQs.

Requirements: a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience); 3+ years using SQL for analytics, backend, database engineering, BI or technical review; strong SQL fundamentals (JOINs, CTEs, window functions, indexes, transactions, normalization); the ability to spot incorrect joins, duplicate counting, SQL injection risks and dialect mismatches; strong English. Preferred: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift, and experience leading remote teams. Selection involves an AI interview, a domain task and a recruiter interview.
