Backend Security Engineer (Remote, Contract, AI training) — Micro1 via AI Gig Scout

micro1 is looking for backend security engineers to help train next-generation AI systems. This is a remote contractor role at about 15 hours a week on a flexible schedule (you pick the hours and days), paying $30–$100/hr. Compensation is output-based: experts are paid per task that meets project specifications, with a minimum weekly submission requirement. No prior AI experience is required.

You will create realistic, interesting and challenging coding tasks for AI to solve, covering feature implementation and bug fixes, and implement deterministic verifiers that accept reasonable valid solutions and reject everything else.

Requirements: strong backend experience in Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++ or similar; a track record building scalable services and APIs; comfort with debugging, performance work and automated testing; solid code review instincts. A cybersecurity or SecOps background is a big plus: secure coding, appsec, pentesting, vulnerability assessment, OWASP/CWE or security-focused reviews. The process is an application with screening questions, an AI interview (about 30 minutes), a possible technical assessment and a hiring manager review, all completed without outside assistance.
